Things to do in North Cornwall

This semi-natural tidal pool is a perfect spot for wild swimming in safety. Preserved by a local charity – Friends of Bude Sea Pool – the pool is free for everyone to enjoy but a donation helps to keep the pool maintained. With views out over the Atlantic Ocean and soft sands surrounding the pool at low tide, it’s the perfect spot for a day out.

Built in 1779 Bodmin Jail is a true historical landmark in Cornwall and a fantastic family experience for those who love all things ghostly! From guided tours around the cells to self-guided adventures there are many stories and paranormal experiences waiting for those brave enough to enter Bodmin Jail.

Take a nostalgic train ride through a secret world of adventure for the whole family at Lappa Valley. Steam trains, boat rides, plenty of nature and outdoor spaces await. If the weather isn’t quite as you’d hoped then there’s a fantastic three-storey soft play and café to keep everyone happy.

Steeped in Arthurian history, Tintagel Castle is home to magic and some of the best views out to sea. Explore the ruins of the castle and walkway and learn all about King Arthur whilst you take in the Cornish coast.

Widemouth Bay
A stunning Blue Flag beach right on the doorstep of the park, Widemouth Bay is perfect for families and surfers alike. Grab a bodyboard or surfboard and catch some waves, or simply sit and enjoy the sand and views. There is ramp access onto the beach from the car park for those with access requirements. Dogs are not permitted between May and the end of September, but there is a pawfect dog-friendly beach right next door!
